Frequently asked questions
What is coaching?
A coach is someone who provides direction, instruction, training and support. Working with The Panic Coach means you’ll have the chance to gain the knowledge and tools you need to overcome your panic and get back to living your life.
How is the Conquer Panic Program different from psychotherapy?
The Conquer Panic Program provides you with the information and tools to help you take control of your body-brain connection and bring your nervous system back into balance.
Unlike psychotherapy, our program doesn’t focus on the emotional healing of trauma. Instead, it’s a practical 3 phase program that provides you with a roadmap to reclaiming your life. Dr Claire Weekes reminds us that you don’t need to solve past trauma to overcome panic. In fact, she says, “People lose hope trying to find an answer,” rather than focusing on the solution.
What does my coach expect of me?
Take control of your journey. Sessions are your own so make sure you’re getting as much as possible from each one.
We’re always happy to answer questions and provide whatever support you need to get more from your consultations.
Communication is critical, so be open about what is and isn’t working for you. There’s always an opportunity to explore new perspectives and troubleshoot roadblocks to success.
Be open to trying new things. It can take commitment and courage, but your coach is by your side to guide you.
What can I expect from my Coach
Your coach is respectful of where you’re at on your journey out of panic. We understand that you’ll progress at your own pace, and that means we’ll provide any encouragement you need to keep moving forward. We can be with you via phone or facetime to step you through the process in real time.
Your coach will challenge the unhelpful behaviours that are keeping you stuck in your panic cycle.
Your coach will build on the positive things you’re already doing and help figure out what works for you. Your coach will help you get out of your own way so that your body can find its natural balance.
How many sessions will I need?
The Conquer Panic program is a practical program, and many people only need 1 or 2 sessions to learn about the skills they need to get unstuck. Personalised consultations are prepaid at a rate of $200 AUD per hour.
Learning to conquer panic is a lot like learning to ride a bike. Some people can jump on and ride away with just a wobble or two, while others need a bit of help to keep the bike upright. We’re happy to help anyone living with panic, and you’ll always have the flexibility to decide how many sessions you need.
